Uluru & The Olgas

Uluru (Ayers Rock) & The Olgas

You've arrived. As far as Australia's international reputation goes, this one is probably the most well known.

Standing majestically, as she does, in the middle of our remote red centre, she is the mother of all show ponies and deserves a day on your outback itinerary absolutely.

Sunrise and sunset are the best times of the day to enjoy the incredible range of colours this massive slab of rock takes on as the light changes. The old girl can put on quite a show. And don't worry if there are clouds or rain about - she'll throw out something memorable, don't you worry about that.

Waterfalls have often been sighted after heavy rain, cascading down the sides, and low cloud can sometimes obscure the rock from half way up, giving her a surreal and mystical presence for those lucky enough to be near her.
